With a clear focus on sustainability, the company aims to revolutionize the industry through groundbreaking solutions. watttron is the inventor of digital heating systems cera2seal and cera2heat. The thermoforming and sealing applications are specifically developed to help the flexible packaging industry process sustainable materials without loss of productivity or quality, whilst saving energy.

Heura is a food-tech company. Their mission is to create solutions that render the current food system obsolete and accelerate the transition to a world where animals are no longer part of the protein production equation. Their Mediterranean culinary heritage is reflected in their products: extra virgin olive oil, a clean label, high nutritional values, and flavour.

Trapview is world’s most advanced platform for monitoring and forecasting of pest insect population. Through its grid of automated, nearly maintenance-free insect traps, together with the advanced artificial intelligence-based processing it offers real time insights into pest insect population. The Platform provides relevant information about the impact pest insects will have on the farm level as well as trends related to pest population in larger area. Trapview is used for monitoring of over 50 insect species in specialty and row crops worldwide.

 

Biosyntia

Biosyntia is an industrial biotech company delivering nature’s ingredients at scale both affordably and sustainably. Using cutting-edge biotechnology and proprietary R&D tools and insights, the company is developing first-of-its-kind precision fermentation processes to replace fossil-based alternatives. Its vision is to develop a natural and environmentally-friendly production process of essential nutritional active ingredients, reducing the use of petrochemically-based processes and driving a positive environmental impact.

In Ovo

In Ovo is a Dutch AgTech scaleup based in Leiden, that develops high-tech solutions to improve animal welfare and sustainability in the poultry sector. After nearly ten years of development, In Ovo’s Ella machine produced the first ‘cull-free chicks’ in Q4, 2020. Since then, a highly improved Ella machine has been developed with an increased capacity to match modern hatcheries’ high production volumes. Next to Ella, In Ovo has a pipeline of other innovations to further increase its impact.

 

Protix

Protix is the market leader in circular, natural and sustainable ingredients from insects. The company breeds larvae of the black soldier fly, which is fed organic waste from the food industry. The adult insects, in turn, are processed into sustainable ingredients such as proteins and lipids. Protix has built the world's first industrial insect facility, laying the foundation for a wide range of certified applications in the feed and food industry. The company was founded in 2009 and is at the forefront of the rapidly developing market for insect-based ingredients. In addition, Protix co-founded the International Platform of Insects for Food and Feed (IPIFF) to constructively contribute to the approval process for insects as novel foods. It is the first and only company in the world to produce insect-based ingredients on an industrial scale. Protix stands for change in the food system to ensure a long-term future for all.

 

Elicit Plant

Elicit Plant is an agri-biotech company that aims to become the French champion of the ecological transition in agriculture and to address the global challenges of water management for field crops. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Moulins-sur-Tardoire, the company employs about 30 people at its precision farm in Charentes and its subsidiary in Brazil. Elicit Plant's proprietary technology is based on the exogenous supply of phytosterols, a molecule of plant origin that improves plants' resistance to water stress and limits yield losses during water shortages. Laboratory and field trials in collaboration with independent technical institutes in France and abroad, cooperatives and distributors have shown yield increases of up to 20%. The BEST-a product, which has received initial marketing authorization from Anses in France, is intended for field crops and includes a range of products for corn and soybeans.

 

Nuritas

Nuritas is revolutionising the discovery of novel, natural and scientifically proven bioactive ingredients that enable their partners to create better or new product solutions for their customers. The company’s disruptive computational approach to discovery uses artificial intelligence, deep learning, and genomics to rapidly and efficiently predict and then unlock the most health-benefiting components hidden within plants and natural food sources, called peptides. Nuritas has since established the world’s largest peptide knowledge base. Through its discoveries, Nuritas wants to firstly manage and improve human health and secondly help make our food system more sustainable by replacing current unwanted ingredients and molecules with more natural and sustainable ones.

Aphea.Bio is a leading player in the development of the next-generation biological products based on naturally occurring microorganisms. Launched in 2017, Aphea.Bio focuses on products that help reducing fertilizer application and controlling fungal diseases for maize and wheat in a sustainable way.

Peel Pioneers

PeelPioneers' proprietary pioneering technology provides a one hundred percent circular solution for fruit peels that in most countries end up getting destroyed in an incinerator. The company extracts orange oil and other much-wanted raw materials that food manufacturers use in products such as beer, lemonade, muffins and chocolate. The raw materials that PeelPioneers derives from orange peels are also sold to manufacturers of non-food products such as detergents and cosmetics.
