Michael Nettersheim

Michael Nettersheim is a General Partner at the ECBF, where he played a central role in raising €300 million ESG-first-time fund and building a team of more than 20 investment professionals. He brings extensive experience across venture capital, mergers & acquisitions and the chemicals industry. Prior to ECBF, Michael led bioeconomy-focused venture investments at BASF Venture Capital in Europe and the United States, supporting R&D partnerships, serving on company boards, and contributing to successful exits. He previously held senior investment roles at High-Tech Gründerfonds and was Head of Corporate Finance and Investor Relations at MediGene AG, where he led equity and mezzanine financings and M&A activities. Michael holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Bonn and earned an Executive MBA from Kellogg - North Western and WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management.
